Complete a creative response that describes or portrays your life as a soldier in the Trenches, or as a surviving family member back on the homefront. Take the perspective of either a American, German, British, or French soldier fighting in the trenches on the Western Front in 1918, or a nurse on the Western Front, or a family member back home.
Describe in DETAIL what your life is like fighting in the trenches, and describe an event (a battle scene, artillery barrage, death of a friend, write a poem, rats nibbling your toes, etc.) that stands out as an example of the wretchedness of fighting and dying in the trenches.
